The BT Versatility V8 Featurephone is the most popular telephone in the Versatility range. The Versatility V8 has a number of keys which are either programmed as line keys or Feature keys. Starting from the top left you have a Secrecy Key which once pressed the caller can not hear your voice, so that allows you to talk to another college without letting the caller think that they are on hold. The next key is the Handsfree Key with a light indicator. This key dose what it says it allows you to talk Handsfree, press it twice and the handsfree feature switches off. The next two keys are the volume UP or DOWN keys, this will allow you to increase or decrease the volume depending on what you are doing such as talking to a caller or hearing the phone ring. You then have a simple indicator on the far right which lights up when you have Voice Massage.
Just above the scream you have 4 function keys which are Program, Massage Retrieval, Directory and ISDN.
Program: By pressing the Program Key you open up the telephone menu and then by pressing the scroll keys you are able to scroll through the menu.
Massage Retrieval: Once you have pressed the Massage Retrieval key followed by your extension number then password and # you will then see Greetings on the screen, either then follow the text and voice prompts then enter and check your greetings.
On the sides of the display you have additional keys, 3 on the left and 3 on the right. These keys are not labelled as they become what it says on the screen. Below the screen you have the scroll keys which allow you to scroll through the programming and other menus. Next to them you have the clear key which allows you to clears what you have entered through the keypad.
